Our story

黄水源先生是新隆利南洋咖啡的创办人。

1961年,黄水源在自己的住家,锌板木屋的旁边盖了一间简陋的木屋南洋咖啡工厂,並且在离家几公里外的旧义顺老巴刹租了一个小摊位,出售他精心研究和烘焙的新隆利南洋咖啡粉。由于反应非常热烈,几年后他又在旧忠邦巴刹开了另一个分店。当时,居住在这两个巴刹附近的大多数村民都是新隆利南洋咖啡的支持者。

80年代,因政府大规模开发及征地计划,两个传统巴刹及附近的村落相继被政府徵收。当然,新隆利的木屋工厂也不例外。那时,黄水源先生面临两个抉择。 一个是放弃咖啡工厂,申请政府组屋的零售店面;另一个是申请建屋局的工厂,但没有零售店面。当时50多岁的黄水源,他做出了人生中最重大的决定;他让他的4个20多岁的儿子自己决定而自己选择提前退休。

1988年,新隆利咖啡粉厂迁入了建屋局的新工厂。作为第二代继承人的四个儿子正式 接管了新隆利的业务。他们将第一代专注于家庭用户的零售商转变为专注于商业用户 的供应商。供应对象为咖啡店、小贩中心和工业食堂。“My Boss” 商标于2001年设计并注册,标志着自从1988年开始,新隆利将其顾客群从家庭客户转移到咖啡店、小贩中心和工业食堂的 “BOSS”。

在2010年至2020年期间是新隆利发展中的一个关键期。在这十年里新隆利在新加坡生产力局与企业局的大力支持与协助下,针对古老的南洋咖啡制造工艺,进行了一次又一次的机械改革,並且克服了重重的障碍,终于取得了突破。

在过去的60多年里,新隆利从一间简陋的木屋南洋咖啡粉厂,发展成为一家生产设备完善,管理系统化,工艺讲究,品质稳定,服务周到及颇具规模的新加坡南洋咖啡制造商。

Mr Ng Chwee Guan is the founder of Sin Leong Lee Nanyang Coffee.

In 1961, Ng Chwee Guan built a simple wooden board Nanyang Coffee Factory next to his home, a zinc plate wooden house and rented a small stall in the old Nee Soon traditional market, a few kilometres away from his home, selling his carefully researched roasted Sin Leong Lee Nanyang coffee powder. Due to the overwhelming response, he opened another branch in Old Chong Pang traditional market a few years later. At that time, most of the villagers living near these two traditional markets were supporters of Sin Leong Lee Nanyang Coffee.

In the 1980s, due to the government’s large-scale development and land requisition plans, the two traditional markets and nearby villages were successively expropriated by the government. Of course, Sin Leong Lee’s wooden house factory is no exception. At that time, Mr Ng Chwee Guan faced two choices. One is to give up the coffee factory and apply for a retail shop in HDB flats, the other is to apply for a HDB factory but without a retail shop. At that time, Mr Ng Chwee Guan who was in his 50s, made the most important decision of his life; he let his 4 sons in their 20s decide for themselves and chose to retire early.

In 1988, Sin Leong Lee coffee powder factory moved into the new HDB factory. The four sons, who are the second-generation heirs, officially took over the business of Sin Leong Lee. They transformed the first generation of retailers focused on home users into suppliers for business users. The supply targets are coffee shops, hawker centres and industrial canteens. “My Boss” trademark was designed and registered in 2001, the brand name since 1988, shifted Sin Leong Lee customer base from home customers to “BOSS” of coffee shops, hawker centres and industrial canteens.

The period from 2010 to 2020 was a critical time in the development of Sin Leong Lee. In the ten years, with the strong support and assistance from the National Productivity Board and Enterprise Singapore, Sin Leong Lee has repeatedly carried out mechanical transformation of the olden ways in manufacturing Nanyang Coffee including overcoming numerous obstacles to finally achieved a breakthrough.

In the past 60 years, Sin Leong Lee has developed from a simple wooden house Nanyang Coffee powder factory to a large-scale Nanyang Coffee manufacturer in Singapore with complete production equipment, systematic management, craftmanship, stable quality and excellent services.
